Surface excitations, shape deformation and the long-time behavior in a stirred Bose-Einstein condensate

The surface excitations, shape deformation and the formation of persistent current for a Gaussian obstacle potential rotating in an highly oblate Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC)are investigated. Vortex dipole can be produced and trapped in the center of the stirrer even for slow motion of the stirring beam. When the barrier angular velocity is above some critical value, the condensate shape can be deformed remarkably according to the rotation frequency due to the existence of plenty of surface wave excitations. After a long enough time, a few vortices are found to be left either trapped in the condensate or pinned by the obstacle, a vortex dipole or several vortices can be trapped at the beam center, which enables the possibility of vortex manipulation.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

Radial excitations of mesons and nucleons from QCD sum rules

Within the framework QCD sum rules, we use the least square fitting method to investigate the first radial excitations of the nucleon and light mesons such as ρ\rho, KK^{*}, π\pi , φ\varphi. The extracted masses of these radial excitations are consistent with the experimental data. Especially we find that the decay constant of π(1300)\pi(1300), which is the the first radial excitation of π\pi, is tiny and strongly suppressed as a consequence of chiral symmetry.Comment: 19 page

A flexible mandatory access control policy for XML databases

    Get PDF
A flexible mandatory access control policy (MAC) for XML databases is presented in this paper. The label type and label access policy can be defined according to the requirements of applications. In order to preserve the integrity of data in XML databases, a constraint between a read access rule and a write access rule in label access policy is introduced. Rules for label assignment and propagation are proposed to alleviate the workload of label assignment. Also, a solution for resolving conflicts of label assignments is proposed. At last, operations for implementation of the MAC policy in a XML database are illustrated
